ABSTRACT
Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem frequently occurring in children, with factors such as
food access, nutritional intake, social factors, and economic conditions playing significant roles
in its manifestation. This study aims to identify effective strategies to reduce stunting rates
among children in Makassar City, South Sulawesi. Utilizing a quantitative approach, the study
conducted household surveys with structured questionnaires involving 180 respondents, who
were parents of children under five experiencing stunting. Data analysis was performed using
structural path analysis with SmartPLS4. The findings indicate that strengthening social
protection systems, improving access to quality food, nutrition education, health education
programs, and family empowerment are crucial factors in preventing stunting. These results
provide significant contributions to the development of targeted and sustainable
interventions to address chronic nutritional issues in South Sulawesi, particularly in Makassar City.
